We Have a Walker!

Lately, Shane and I have been seeing if we can get Caleb to walk. I don't REALLY want him to, but he's one now and we keep thinking it will happen anytime. We sit, about 2 feet apart, and take turns trying to get Caleb to walk back and forth between us. He usually gets so excited he just leans forward with all his weight and maybe squeezes a step or two in before he falls into our waiting arms. Secretly, I'm pleased. No need to rush things. I want him to stay a baby for a while longer.

Fast forward to yesterday. Caleb is playing in the living room and we are all busy doing this and that. I walk over to the living room just in time to see Caleb let go of the table he was standing beside, and take about five or six steps before sitting down with his toys. My eyes seriously went wide with complete shock, and I couldn't even speak. LOL! It isn't like this is my first child. I should be used to these monumental firsts, but I am not. at all. Shane comes in from the backyard and I finally manage to blurt out "Caleb just walked!"

We spent the next 15 minutes testing him out to see how well he could do it and how far he could go. He did very well, and walked further and further each try.

So, it seems that, he has graduated from Baby to Toddler. But in my heart, he'll always be my baby, same as my 6 and 8 year olds.
