So Macy's never called, but can I say i'm sort of relieved? Not that i didn't want to go work there for the holidays - i thought a break from the house would be awesome... But during the second interview it became clear that i would NOT be playing with make-up. I guess when you are part time, temporary, holiday help, they frown on setting you loose with make up around the customers. Soooooooo, i was only going to be cashiering, no make up fun, no commission...
The only good thing i lost out on was that employee discount. DANG IT!

Congrats on your SITS day! How uncool that they wouldn't let you play with the make-up. Glad you didn't get stuck at a boring old register. That would totally suck the life out of my holiday cheer.

Congrats on your SITSday! I can relate to wanting to do makeup all day. In highschool, I went to a technical school for Cosmetology just to do hair and makeup all day. It was fun, although I never used my training for anything else. I hope you find your perfect job:)

Congratulations on your Friday Favorites SITS win! Sorry you won't be playing with make-up at Macy's. I too just took a part time seasonal job so I could get out of the house and have a few hours of peace (really). My MIL told me that the Macy's near her in NJ had too many applicants and not enough jobs - don't give up, just find another store!!

Happy SITS day, sorry you didn't get the dream job. :) Working retail over the holidays stinks, anyhow, even if they did let you do makeup applications! I've done it more than I like to remember. But you're right, discounts are awesome. My part-time job at Best Buy when I was in grad school ended up a net loss because I bought so much stuff with my discout :)

I have seriously considered a two night a week job at MAC or Sephora....feed the addition beast. FEED it!
You know...it just might be a good thing that they don't let just 'anyone they hire' apply make-up to customers. You know....from a customer's point of view :O)

Bummer on the job not working out, but that would have been sad to just look at the make-up from afar.
We appear to be polar opposites as I rarely wear makeup and have never been in a Sephora, but I can appreciate the infatuation. There are several near me - I will go check one out in your honor!
