As we head into fall, I've been contemplating new lip colors. I'm big into gloss, and little-to-no color on lips is a great look for summer, when you want to be "effortless" or "sunkissed" or any of those other summer-look buzz words.
But for fall, i think of bundling up, warm rich colors, darker hair, etc. So i told myself i needed to reach out and try some new lipsticks. I'm notorious for finding something i like, and then buying that similar color in every brand i encounter. Well, a few days ago, I went to our local dollar tree store to find some Halloween decorations, and found Maybelline Wet Shine lipstick! And they are packaged on cards, so no broken, squashed, or "tested out" sticks at all. I bought 10 for $10 and loved almost all of them!
I got:
#30: Flushed
#40: Pink Pout
#50: Pink-a-boo
#73: Strawberry Ice
#90 : Plumscicle
#105: Ripe Plum
#200: Nude Glow
#430: Pink Diamonds (Wet Shine DIAMONDS Lipcolor)
#520: Blushing Diamonds (Wet Shine DIAMONDS Lipcolor)
#570: Ruby Desire (Wet Shine DIAMONDS Lipcolor)
The colors vary from lighter pinks and peaches, to rich berry and red-ish. I always WANT to wear red lipstick, and then i think, "who do I think i am?? wearing red lipstick..." but who DO i think i am? unworthy? lol! So red lipstick i bought, and red lipstick i shall wear. at some point. maybe i'll break it in around the house.
DOLLAR TREE.
GO.
NOW.

I just so happened to have my camera...
I was at Target last week and saw some new make-up displays. Since i had my camera in my bag, i snapped a few pics amongst the looky-loo's that wondered why i was taking pictures of make up. (See how committed I am to you? looking like a crazy person in aisle 1 of HBA?)
Pixi by Petra Strand: (Love the Shadow pallettes...)
NP Set by Napoleon Perdis:

JK Jemma Kidd was not displayed when i was there last week but i did see it this morning. I didn't have my camera. They had a very pretty purple shadow though. :)
Anyhoo, this isn't Loreal. Or Revlon. And it certainly isn't Wet & Wild. Prices are between $16 and $40 for the things i actually looked at. Maybe even higher. But this could help you meet the $50 requirement for free shipping on Target.com. My store had plenty of samples and little tissue/q-tip stations for testing the stuff. Fun for sure! It just makes me believe a little more that someday ULTA may appear within Target, the way Sephora does inside JC Penney.

Free Brush Bag From Benefit

Benefit offers up this adorable brush case for FREE with any brush purchase! The Betty Bag features a flap on top that flips up to reveal 4 brush pouches, and a zipper compartment on the side to hold shadow, powder and gloss for quick touch ups. Perfect to keep in your purse, or take on weekend getaways. Just add any brush to your cart, and enter code BETTYBAG at checkout.
A good brush to pick up? This hard angle brush is very versatile, and one of my must have's. Use it to fill in brows, apply shadow as liner, or to create a perfect "cat eye" shape on the outer corners of your lids. Just load the end of the brush with shadow, dab it on at an upward angle pointing towards the outer tip of your eyebrow, and then fill in your lid and crease from there. It makes it SO easy! Like coloring inside the lines. :)
If you decide to stock up on any of their "Buh-Buys", skincare products, or other cosmetics, enter promo code FRESHP65 for free shipping on purchases of $65 or more. While you're there, check out Benefit's Beauty School, and order yourself a catalog for new powder room reading material. (C'mon... we all read in the "Jane"...)

Review: POSH Makeup brushes
A while back, Elessa at Pursebuzz alerted her readers that Big Lots had NYX shadows for $0.49. I HATE that store almost as much as i hate Walmart, but for NYX I happily made the trip. While I was there hoarding NYX shadows, i also scored 4 POSH brushes for a total of $10:
Posh's slogan is "You can purchase a more expensive make-up brush, but not a better one." And i think they are right. They use natural and synthetic fibers, and the powder brushes - which i use DAILY - have barely ever shed on me. These are the softest brushes i have ever used. In fact, you can see me using them with my Bare Minerals in this video. Plus, the red and black is different, and i love the font they use for "POSH". LOL. I notice all those kinds of things. All of the brushes come in durable little zip lock style pouches, which are great for travel. I seriously love theses brushes and cannot sing their praises enough. Some of you might find these in your local drug or grocery store. I've not run into them anywhere where I live but you can also purchase them online (and the website says you receive a free gift with purchase). If you do purchase online, use the code "UA123" at checkout to receive 50% off your entire order! Then come back and comment here to tell me which ones you bought and how you like them! :)

Bath & Body Works Sale + 2 Year Old Gift Card
Here's the crazy amount of lotion, gel and bubble bath that I bought yesterday at the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale.
I have had a $50 B&BW gift card in my wallet from Christmas 2 years ago! I bought lotion and shower gel in a new (for me) scent "Mango Mandarin" and it smells so yummy! Those, (along with all their regular products) were $5 each. Even my hubby liked it.
I also bought all they had of Plumeria, Magnolia Blossom, and Pearberry because they are my all-time faves. All of those items were 75% off, so i paid $2.38 each for them. I am so upset that they are doing away with all of the "classics". If any of you know of Plumeria, and know a lotion that is similar in scent (it has a sweet smell in addition to the flowery smell...) PLEASE comment here and let me know.
I also got 2 hand soap pumps for $2.50 each. I picked up a few 4 oz. bottles of gel and lotion in Pear Blossom to keep in my last minute gift closet. Those were only $1.50 each! I got small bottles of body splash and lotion for my purse for $1 each, and a bottle of Ginger Verbena self-tanning lotion for $3.63. My shopping bag was so freaking heavy, I had to wrap up my shopping trip because I was exhausted carrying it!!
Watch this clip of the goodies:

FYI: NYX Coupon
NYX is my fave drugstore make up and here i get it at Longs Drug Store. They have a coupon in their coupon booklet for $0.50 off any NYX purchase. I didn't buy any eye shadow since i just got 20 new ones last weekend (don't ask!) but i did buy a pretty new Diamond Sparkle Lipstick in Sparkling Copper. I also nabbed about 5 coupon booklets for later since the Q is good until the end of June! Hee hee!
